About the Job
A national law firm is seeking a highly experienced Legal Administrative Assistant with 5-7 years of experience, specifically focused on complex civil litigation, commercial litigation, mass torts, and trial support, to join its Century City office. The ideal candidate will be critical in supporting attorneys and legal teams preparing for high-stakes litigation cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced administrative support to attorneys handling complex litigation matters.
- Assist with document preparation, filing, and organization, including drafting legal correspondence, pleadings, and discovery materials.
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements, particularly for trial support and court appearances.
- Assist in preparing trial materials, including exhibits, trial binders, witness coordination, and court filings.
- Perform e-filing and e-service in state, federal, and appellate courts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle mass tort and complex litigation case management, including tracking deadlines, maintaining detailed case files, and organizing large volumes of discovery documents.
- Act as liaison between legal teams, clients, and outside parties, ensuring smooth communication and case management.
- Provide in-courtroom support as needed, including managing documentation, witness coordination, and logistical arrangements.
- Track and manage litigation deadlines, court dates, and case events in case management software.
- Assist with the preparation of billing and expense reports.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of legal administrative experience, with a strong focus on complex civil litigation, commercial litigation, and mass torts.
- Proficiency in legal software (e.g., Clio, iManage, or other case management systems) and e-filing systems for state and federal courts.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to handle high-volume casework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal staff.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Trial support experience, including preparation of trial documents, organizing trial binders, and in-courtroom assistance.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with litigation databases.
- High degree of discretion and professionalism, particularly when handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Experience with mass tort litigation.
- Familiarity with legal document management systems and e-discovery tools.
$80,000 - $90,000- commensurate with your experience and qualifications
