Our friendly, fast-paced, and growing law firm is located in Allen, Texas. We have five attorneys and a full staff. We are looking to hire an additional full-time legal assistant/assistant office manager to assist in a variety of legal matters which may include Estate Planning, Probate, Business Law, Real Estate Law, Litigation, and Criminal matters. We pride ourselves in helping the Allen and surrounding communities and are known for being fair, trustworthy, and professional. We receive many client referrals from past and current clients.
Description
As a Legal Assistant/Assistant Office Manager, you will provide crucial support to our attorneys and legal team. Your responsibilities may include conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, meeting with clients, assisting with case management tasks and helping to keep our office running smoothly. This role offers a foundational experience in the legal field, allowing you to develop essential skills and gain practical knowledge. Candidates should like helping people (clients and team members) and be a team player, highly organized, and meticulous in their work product. Candidates should also possess a positive attitude.
Role and Responsibilities
- Document drafting – Assist in the drafting, formatting, proofreading, and finalizing of legal documents, which may include wills, powers of attorneys, pleadings, discovery, affidavits, and more under attorney supervision; draft letters and emails to clients, other parties, and the court.
- Case Management – Organize and manage client files; including digital and paper files to ensure efficient case management.
- Case Preparation -- Prepare notebooks for hearings, mediations, and trial.
- Research – research and pull court records, Texas Secretary of State business records, deed records, public data records.
- Client Communication – Assist in the preparation of correspondence letters and emails to clients and other related parties which may include court staff, witnesses, and/or other professionals. Additionally, you may assist in client meetings via phone, zoom, and in person.
- Administrative Support – Provide administrative support as needed for the firm such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, answering phone calls, and general office upkeep and support.
- Court and Records Filings – Assist in preparing and filing legal documents with courts and other agencies, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Confidentiality and Team Collaboration – Work closely with attorneys and other legal professionals effectively to support achieving case goals, while also maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma (required)
- College degree (preferred)
Experience
- No experience is required, but 1+ years of work experience in a retail, restaurant, and/or office environment is preferred.

Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the office with a 1-hour lunch. Occasional overtime may be required. This is not a remote work position. Location: 80 E McDermott Dr, Allen, TX 75002.
Salary range: $18 - $20 per hour
