Family-owned Lauth Investigations International, Inc. is an Indianapolis-based private investigation firm with over 30 years of experience in corporate culture audits, attorney and legal services, workplace investigations, and missing persons. We are seeking a Legal Assistant to analyze, research, and review claims for accuracy, completeness, and approval. The ideal candidate for this position will have a vast interest in and experience with legal research or unclaimed property.

RESPONSIBILITIES
What You Can Expect Day-to-Day
Leveraging your expertise and industry experience, the following are the key activities you'll perform in your role as Legal Assistant:
Maintain accurate records of claim information and client communications
Communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with clients, colleagues, management, and governmental agencies
Perform high-level internet research, identify relevant resources, and analyze results to determine the viability of each claim
Provide comprehensive case management services to all claimants, including intake assessment, weekly client relations development, and progress monitoring of new and pending cases
Report and serve as liaison on all cases, including those requiring in-depth research with outside vendors
Monitor cases by evaluating progress and responses from claimants; obtain additional resources such as genealogy and heir confirmation to secure the claim
Provide administrative operational support to the Lead for the Return Assets Division, including answering incoming calls, processing incoming and outgoing mail, filing, and light bookkeeping support
REQUIREMENTS
What it Takes
We are looking for a detail-oriented, fact-finding professional focused on accuracy and committed to excellence.
This role is a full-time in-person/hybrid role and will report to the Lead for the Return Assets Division.
Minimum Required:
Associate degree
3 years of experience in either legal or claims processing
Excellent client relations skills and a strong understanding of case management processes
Hands-on experience applying multiple communication techniques (including cold calls and emails)
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in computer literacy and navigation skills, including data entry and case management systems
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cases simultaneously
Strong integrity to maintain confidentiality
Positive demeanor with a "can-do" attitude
Self-motivated and dependable
Ability to take ownership of your work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree
Paralegal certificate
CRM experience
Tech-savvy

Compensation:Hiring salary for this role is between $26.50 - $31.25/hour. Final compensation will be based on the successful candidate’s education, skills, and experience.
