Job Overview:
This position involves providing essential support to a group of seasoned attorneys at a distinguished law firm in Torrance. You will handle case preparation, manage detailed documentation, and ensure the seamless coordination of legal activities. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational capabilities, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth legal research on case law, regulations, and various legal matters to assist in strategy development.
- Accurately prepare, revise, and file legal documents such as motions, briefs, agreements, and subpoenas.
- Maintain comprehensive and well-organized case files, ensuring all documents are easily accessible.
- Liaise with clients, witnesses, and external parties to gather crucial information for case development.
- Assist in organizing materials and schedules for legal proceedings, ensuring all logistical details are handled.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all legal documents with appropriate courts and agencies.
- Manage attorneys' schedules to ensure all deadlines and legal requirements are met.
- Utilize legal software and databases to streamline case management and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience within a law firm.
- Paralegal certification is strongly preferred.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or a related discipline.
