Overview:Provide administrative services in the drafting, preparation, and processing of corporate legal documents, litigation documents, reports, and records as assigned by the Corporate Counsel.

Responsibilities:- Schedule court dates and prepare files for court proceedings.
- Prepare collection, share loss, aliases, judgment, and continuance letters and monitor response due dates.
- Monitor and revive judgments upon recommendation of Corporate Counsel.
- Prepare post-judgment collection work, including executions, levies, liens, and garnishments.
- Answer levies within two business days.
- Assist Ascend Employees and Members with Power of Attorney inquiries.
- Assist Ascend Employees and Members with deceased account inquiries.
- Coordinate safety deposit program with front office employees, coordinate drilling of safe deposit boxes, when appropriate, and keep track of unclaimed contents up and to disposal of contents.
- Process legal mail and secure legal file room daily.
- Provide administrative support to the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Counsel including letters, reports, and scheduling.
- Read all internal publications including HUB and Possibilities.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Education
- Two or more years of college or prior legal experience
Work Experience
- 1-3 years clerical or administrative experience is required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must possess proficient critical thinking, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- High degree of accuracy.
- Must possess a high degree of professionalism to represent the credit union positively with members, court, agency personnel, law firms, and other outside contacts.
- Ability to prioritize work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- A valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and internet.
- Ability to operate or have ability to be trained to operate related office equipment, including personal computer, multifunction copier, calculator, and telephone.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
