We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team specializing in Workers Comp Defense. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably with a specific focus on workers' compensation insurance defense. Familiarity with Total Office and/or Juris software is a significant plus. This role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, as the successful candidate will be responsible for interacting with clients, attorneys, and other legal professionals on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
As a Legal Assistant in our Workers Comp Defense team, your responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting in the preparation and filing of legal documents and correspondence related to workers' compensation cases.
2. Conducting legal research and compiling data for attorneys' use in motions, negotiations, and hearings.
3. Coordinating and managing attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments, court dates, depositions, and other relevant events.
4. Maintaining and organizing case files, ensuring that critical documents are readily accessible and that all pertinent information is accurately recorded.
5. Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other relevant parties in a professional and courteous manner.
6. Providing general administrative support to attorneys, such as answering phones, handling mail, and performing other tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 1 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably within the field of workers' compensation insurance defense.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and other legal professionals.
3. Proficiency in Total Office and/or Juris software is a plus.
4. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and meet strict deadlines.
5. A keen attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
6. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
