Legal Secretary - Bookkeeper from Elgen Staffing

Our client, a busy, personal injury firm in midtown Manhattan is seeking a high-level Legal Secretary - Bookkeeper, with at least five years of recent, relevant experience in Personal Injury, to join our winning team in New York City.

Our candidate of choice must be able to handle all types of personal injury matters from intake through trial, including investigation, pleadings and discovery, medical records, extensive client contact, trial prep and trial assistance. Applicants MUST speak fluent Spanish.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Request conflict checks, open new client matters and submit electronic approvals, as needed.
• Draft legal documents, letters, affidavits of service using firm templates.
• Assemble motions and pleadings for filing with the Court.
• Prepare Table of Contents and Table of Authorities.
• Correspond with counsel, clients and courts.
• Perform client conflict checks and Client Intake forms to open a new case.
• File documents on the NYSCEF and Federal Court Systems.
• Manage legal documents and correspondence in strict confidence.
• Back up to Receptionist.
• Other ad hoc projects as needed.
