About the Job
A respected law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to our attorneys, ensuring the smooth operation of our legal practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills and a passion for the legal field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, edit, and file legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings
- Maintain and organize case files and legal records
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and court dates
- Manage attorney calendars and prioritize tasks
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information
- Assist with billing and invoicing processes
- Perform general administrative duties, including answering phones and managing office supplies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or legal secretarial certification preferred
- Proven experience as a legal secretary or in a similar administrative role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal management software
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor and a commitment to confidentiality
