Job Title: Legal Service Associate - Records
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Temporary Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay: $28-$30 per hour – 2-month Temporary Contract (Potential FT)
Position Overview:
Forrest Solutions seeks a reliable and organized Legal Service Associate - Records to assist our client with the final stages of a firm-wide transition in our Boston office. This temporary position will support the transfer of legal matters, working closely with our team, legal assistants, and partners to ensure a smooth transition. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong organizational skills, and can provide steady, reassuring support during this period of change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Transition Logistics: Oversee the opening, transferring, and organization of case files, ensuring accurate and timely movement of all records and legal materials.
- Facilitate Communication: Act as the central contact, liaising between our team and the Boston office to address any questions or concerns promptly.
- Support Trust Fund Transfers: Coordinate the movement of trust funds as part of the matter transition, working closely with the finance and trust departments to ensure all processes comply with firm and regulatory standards.
- Ensure Compliance and Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of all transitions, tracking the progress and compliance of each matter with the firm’s guidelines.
- Provide Partner Support: Offer direct support to partners, assisting with any requests and making sure they feel supported throughout the transition.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience as a paralegal, records associate, or similar role in legal settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Business, JD, or licensed attorney.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with an eye for detail.
- Experience in managing legal files, onboarding/offboarding clients or attorneys, or supporting transitions in a legal environment.
- Effective communication skills, able to work well with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to address potential issues before they escalate.
