POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a creative and passionate Robotics Instructor for our after-school enrichment program, which supports our 9th—12th grade students. The Instructor will be responsible for planning and leading structured lessons and workshops that teach students how to design, build, and program LEGO robots.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The ideal candidate will inspire and guide high school youth through engaging and educational LEGO Robotics activities.
Plan and deliver engaging LEGO robotics lessons that are suitable for 9th - 12th grade students.
Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Provide guidance and support to students as they build and program their robots.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Ensure the proper safety and proper use of all robotics equipment and materials.
Prepare for each session by organizing materials and setting up a classroom.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with LEGO Robotics, LEGO League, LEGO Mindstorms, and LEGO NXT Robotics is highly preferred.
Previous teaching or instructional experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Enthusiasm for STEM education and working with youth.
Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the program.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, crouching, squatting, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 80% walking & standing. The work environment noise level is usually moderate but can be noisy at times. All requirements are subject to reasonable accommodations.
LOCATION
1109 Hilton Avenue, Redwood City
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday - Friday 2:30 pm - 8:00 pm with occasional Saturdays
SALARY & BENEFITS
Employment Status: Part Time-Non Exempt
Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
