Summary of Position:
The Level II CNC Programmer will be essential in programming and production setup for aerospace, defense,motorsports, and commercial machined components and assemblies. Key operations with this role include the useof CNC Mills and Lathes, power and hand tools, precision tools, and any other required tools and/or equipment byperforming the duties below. This position requires expertise in Solidworks, Mastercam, OKUMA controllers, and readingdetailed prints/drawings. In addition, this role will also require comprehensive knowledge and experience in fixturing and equipment setup. The Level II Programmer must be a strong communicator, independent worker, teamplayer, and have the drive to learn and adapt.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Operate DSM in an ISO 9001 and AS 9100 environment.
• Build or manufacture to drawing all items to established production quality and quantity as scheduled.
• Operate conventional and/or CNC equipment, and perform first part inspection to verify part is to specificationswith regular and proficient use of precision measuring equipment.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance and good housekeeping to insure good quality and continuation ofsafe operation. Maintaining tools and equipment and keep supplies and parts in good working order with aclean work area, machines, tools and equipment.
• Lead in manufacturing of prototype equipment. Install machined parts in mechanisms, machines and equipment and tests operation of unit to ensure functionally and performing.
• Confer with supervisors, engineering, production personnel or other team members to resolve manufacturing problems. Report shortages of parts, tools, and materials in a timely manner.
• Operate power equipment and material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.) • Ability to build jigs and fixtures as well as use mainframe computer.
• Develop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be manufactured.
• Ability to work with metric and inch system.
• Responsible for submitting daily time accounting and payroll information or other paperwork requested.
• Manufacture all equipment on his or her own, including prototype equipment with minimal supervision and/or engineering assistance.
• Program CNC machines using 3D models or 2D prints
• Create CNC programs without the use of CAM software
Position Requirements
• MasterCam 2019 or later version experience
• Okuma P300 control experience
• Firm knowledge and understanding of GD&T
• Assist the department supervisors with meeting a predetermined schedule and develop of future schedules, including coordination of manpower and projects assigned. Leadership qualities are favorable.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Frequently walking and occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Frequently lift and/or move up to one hundred (100) pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred (100) pounds.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Also, to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Strong comprehension of G and M Code programming. Must be able to make edit to G and M code without the use of cam software
• Strong comprehension of probing routines and macro programming.
Education and/or Experience
Minimum requirements: High School or GED with Journeyman, Machinist, Tool and Die maker, or twenty five (25) credits and four (4) years of job related experience. MasterCam Training, Solidworks Training a plus, GD&T training

Salary info:
$35 - $38 / hr
