Summit Psychological Associates, Inc. is a large behavioral health agency with a multidisciplinary staff of counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychology interns/assistants, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and case managers in Summit and Stark County. Summit Psychological Associates provides services to adults and children, individuals with mental health and substance use disorders and to clients involved with the criminal justice system. As our programming grows, we are looking for licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors - LCDC II, LCDC III or LICDC to join our treatment team in Akron location. Clinicians interested in providing chemical dependency services would work with clients on an individual and group basis. The clinician would also provide substance abuse treatment group services at the Portage County Jail several times a week. An independently licensed CD counselor would also assist with supervision of SUD cases in the agency.
Clinicians have the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely for some of their week. Non-independent clinicians are provided supervision to assist in attaining independent licensure. Newly hired clinicians are assigned either a supervisor (for non-independent clinicians) or a senior clinician (for independently licensed clinicians) to orient the new staff member to agency procedures and to the electronic medical record. Twelve hours of free continuing education are provided to staff every year. Clinicians meet weekly to learn agency updates, procedure changes and to staff cases.
Summit Psychological Associates, Inc. is certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OMHAS), and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its outpatient treatment integrative mental health/substance use disorder programs serving adults, children and adolescents, and the criminal justice population.
