GENERAL:
The Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Group Therapist serves as the primary direct service clinician to patients admitted to the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
The IOP Group Therapist also provides guidance and instruction to foster emotional, physical and mental growth of clients through therapeutic intervention and positive role modeling
The IOP Group Therapist is the primary facilitator for the group therapy services for the IOP and also provides adjunct services to support the minimum expectations of IOP.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide professional clinical services, including but not limited to:
Assessments
Treatment planning
Individual, group, and family therapy
Case management
Consultation, education, and prevention
Development, implementation and management of curriculum
Aftercare planning
Crisis intervention.
Collaborate with other treatment team members regarding treatment planning, progress, and ongoing needs in a timely and consistent manner.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Provides assistance and back up support to the inpatient social workers, Intake and other aspects of the inpatient program, as directed.
OTHER DUTIES:
Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment
All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master Degree in Social Work or Counseling, or Doctoral degree in Psychology.
Licensure: Valid Ohio LSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychology license required.
Skills: Strong clinical skills with knowledge/experience in the following areas: systemic family therapy, crisis intervention, family education, behavioral interventions.
Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with
diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities.
Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using Agency computer systems and software as required to perform essential job functions.
Fluency in Spanish a plus.
Experience: Culturally competent knowledge of diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, family systems, systems and methods in family therapy, group therapy, child psychotherapy, and adolescent psychotherapy.
Experience with children, adolescents, and families.
Demonstrated clinical experience in chemical dependency treatment.
Knowledge of children’s and family mental health system.
