Position Summary
The Mental Health Clinician will provide clinical therapy, assessment, treatment planning, rehabilitation services, collateral and case management services for participants who are difficult to engage and may deny the need for mental health and substance abuse services. As a critical member of the treatment team, the clinician will develop, evaluate, and implement treatment goals and plans. The Clinician will provide services in an individual and group setting. Madera County Behavioral Health Bridge housing is a low-barrier shelter providing high intensity behavioral health and wraparound case management to support individuals who are experiencing homelessness with entering permanent housing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide service coordination/case management for an assigned group of clients including coordinating and monitoring activities of the treatment team.
- Develop, evaluate, and implement treatment goals and plans in conjunction with the treatment team.
- Provide individual supportive coaching in all areas of clients’ lives.
- Perform psychosocial and risk assessments; maintain a daily log of client contacts.
- Provide on-call crisis intervention support covering nighttime and weekend hours.
- Conduct and oversee psychoeducational groups as directed
- Comply with all charting and documentation requirements per contract, funding agency, and the BHBH policy.
- Prepare critical care issues for discussion during supervision and daily organizational staff meetings.
- Provide information about the program to community agencies connected to the mental health and substance abuse services system.
- Comply with all BHBH and program rules, policies and procedures including HIPAA standards.
- With limited supervision, provides comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, risk assessment, clinical interventions, case management, and coordination of therapeutic activities in the community.
- Ensures that documentation and maintenance of clinical records is completed per appropriate standards and regulations.
- Provides facilitation and support to enhance the efforts of participants and their families/caregivers in the design and implementation of evidence-based treatment.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Master's Degree (MA/ MS) in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling or a closely related field required.
- Valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance per contract requirements
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite and EHR software
- One (1) year of supervised clinical experience with SMI preferred
- Licensed with BBS as an LSCW, LMFT, or LPCC
- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
