Job Title: Mental Health Provider -1099 contract position
Summary
Work in collaboration with provider to provide patients with care, education and support. Assist patients in understanding their behaviors, teaching them how to change their responses to unfavorable situations and assisting in developing healthier coping mechanisms.
Proposed Schedule: 3 days a week- in office. Flexible schedule. 6 patients a day with two hours scheduled for administrative time.
Essential Responsibilities
- Analyze patient’s behavioral patterns to diagnose mental health disorders
- Develop suitable treatment programs based on patients’ diagnoses and adjust treatment programs accordingly
- Recommend activities and exercises to help patients develop the skills and mechanisms needed to manage their diagnoses or overcome their phobias and addictions
- Maintain detailed counseling and observation notes on each patient in the EMR
- Collaborate with patient’s families to obtain feedback on implemented treatment plans and patient’s progress
- Work closely with services and resources within the community to provide additional information and support when required
- Maintain patient confidence and ensure confidentiality of patient care information
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology, applied behavioral science, Social Work or related field
- One of the following current and unrestricted State of Florida licensures: Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist.
- BLS Certification approved by American Heart Association
- 2+ years’ experience with providing diagnostic assessment and therapy services to a full range of individuals from youth to adulthood
- Experience with Trauma Informed Care
- Protect the privacy of our patients using HIPAA guidelines
- Proficient knowledge of computer systems including electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients using excellent written and verbal skills
- Demonstrate compassion, patience and understanding
- Apply experience with public safety mental health issues
- Friendly personality and the ability to work well as a team member
