At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a LNA/HUC to join our team.
The primary responsibility of the LNA portion is:
- Assists with feeding patients and maintaining fluid balance.
- Maintains awareness of patients’ needs and meets communication needs of patients.
- Assists in admission, transfer and discharge of patient.
- Provides timely notification to a RN when patient complains of pain, demonstrates changes in status and responses, or has abnormal findings.
The primary responsibility of the Health Unit Coordinator portion is:
- Interacts professionally with physicians, patients/family and others.
- Responds to inappropriate behavior in a therapeutic manner.
- Obtains licensed nurse when family requests communication regarding patient’s condition, beyond the Unit Secretary/LNA’s scope of practice.
- Handles delivery of mail daily to and from department.
- Orders office supplies and printing, as required, and picks up orders.
- Notifies Engineering Department of any equipment not in proper working order; completes necessary paperwork.
- Answers telephone in a polite manner and communicates information to appropriate personnel.
Ideal Candidate would have the following qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current NH LNA license
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- High integrity, able to follow procedures
