About the Job
Encore Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for an Administrator for our skilled nursing department. The Administrator plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the resources and finances available to best meet the needs of the residents and administers all aspects of the Skilled Nursing program inclusive of resident service levels, family communication, and staffing needs. The Administrator is responsible for the strategic planning, regulatory compliance, operations and financial performance of both skilled care and skilled nursing.
Strategic and Operational Leadership
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define long-term strategic goals and initiatives specific to the Nursing Home, aligning them with broader organizational objectives.
Regulatory Compliance and Policy Management
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations at the Nursing Home, including management of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Develop and update all policies and procedures for the Nursing Home to maintain regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Nursing Home to uphold high standards of nursing care, adhering to PHI regulations.
- Manage the Nursing Home's organizational structure, including staffing requirements, reporting relationships, and delegation of authority.
- Monitor and minimize the use of external agency personnel.
Performance Management and Financial Oversight
- Define and enforce performance standards across the Nursing Home's operations to ensure consistent quality.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations to identify operational deficiencies and implement corrective actions to achieve projected objectives.
- Manage the Nursing Home's budget and implement strategies to meet financial goals, including staffing considerations.
Revenue Optimization and Stakeholder Management
- Evaluate opportunities to enhance reimbursement and increase census at the Nursing Home.
- Monitor financial impacts of Title XVIII and Title XIX programs, reporting on trends and strategizing responses.
- Foster strong relationships with nursing home administrators, associates, residents, families, consultants, and external stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support marketing efforts for the Nursing Home both internally and externally.
- Attend management meetings as a member of the Management team.
- Serve as Manager-on-Duty on campus as scheduled.
- Facilitate or participate in meetings addressing campus needs.
Qualifications
- Current Illinois Nursing Home Administrator License.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5-6 years of experience in long-term care or related fields.
- Strong interpersonal and administrative skills, including experience with regulatory bodies like IDPH and JCAHO.
- Knowledge of IDPH, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations essential.
- Proficiency in group processes, communication, typing, and computer skills.
- Customer-oriented interpersonal skills with the ability to handle diverse interactions.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and in stressful situations.
- Develop comprehensive short and long-term goals for the Nursing Home, advocating for industry best practices through effective policy and procedure management.
- Establish budgetary frameworks to support achievement of strategic goals.
- Lead the development and assessment of new program proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Prepare annual budgets and deliver monthly variance reports to the Director of Financial Planning.
