About the Job
Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida seeks Florida licensed psychologists to join our growing Integrated Behavioral Health team. We are a Federally Qualified Health Service Center (FQHC) providing primary care and dental services to an underserved population at multiple adult and pediatric sites throughout Collier County, FL. We are also a teaching site for medical students and postdoctoral Health Psychology Fellows of Florida State University College of Medicine.
The Licensed Psychologist's clinical responsibilities will include applying psychological knowledge and principles in an integrated primary care setting to treat common physical and mental health problems experienced by adults and/or children patients and families in primary care. Promote health, recovery, and patient self-management by collaborating with primary care physicians and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Possesses knowledge of the biological, cognitive and affective components of health and illness.
- Provides brief (15-30 minute) interventions and treatments that are evidence-based to treat and manage patients with emotional, psychosocial or other health problems.
- Addresses health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic disease across the lifespan.
- Assists in identifying at-risk patients, preventing relapse or morbidity in conditions that tend to recur over time.
- Works with the medical team in the development of a common treatment plan for the patient, including referral of cases to specialists, as appropriate.
- Provides timely consultation, coordination and collaboration of services, with feasible recommendations that are brief, concrete, and evidence-based.
- Possesses extensive patient assessment skills using diagnostic methods and instruments that will facilitate the development of an appropriate plan of care, modifying as indicated.
- Possesses an ability to make meaningful connections with a diverse range of patients.
- Is comfortable with the fast pace of integrated behavioral health in primary care, effectively working and communicating with an interdisciplinary team.
- Maintains ethical and professional standards
- Attends and participates in required department and providers' meetings. Some meetings may require attendance outside of normal duty hours.
Education/Training Level:
- Must have a doctorate in psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA-approved training program.
- Have a minimum of one year of experience in a primary care setting or a similar health setting.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Current Florida license to practice psychology, or be immediate eligible.
- Must havecurrent, validCPR certification
Communication Skills:
- Possess ability to work independently and interdependently with other health care professionals.
- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families and members of the health care team.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish or Creole) preferred
Technology Skills:
- Must be proficient with practice management systems (EMR)
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft office suite)
