Responsibilities:

LPN will provide individualized nursing care to a 3rd grade student with a stable tracheostomy. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the student's safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the school day.

- Tracheostomy Care: Monitor and manage the student's tracheostomy, including suctioning, tube changes, and ensuring proper hygiene.

- Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications as directed by the student's physician or nurse practitioner.

- Health Monitoring: Assess the student's overall health status, including vital signs, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.

- Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and administer first aid as needed.

- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with the student's parents, teachers, and medical team.

- Transportation: Accompany the student on the school bus to and from school.

Required Qualifications:

- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Massachusetts.

- Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.

- Knowledge of tracheostomy care and management.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Patience, compassion, and a commitment to providing high-quality care.

Hours:

Monday-Friday, approximately 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM, with hours adjusted based on bus pick-up and drop-off times.
