Job Overview - Licensed Practical Nurse (IDD):
Step into a crucial role as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with our client at a small Intermediate Care Facility in Harrisburg, PA, providing overnight care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This temporary position involves medication administration, managing feeding tubes, and addressing complex medical needs.

Compensation: $42/hour
Location: Harrisburg, PA
Schedule: Overnight Shift, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM

Responsibilities as the Licensed Practical Nurse (IDD):

• Medication Administration: Perform large medication passes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical guidelines.
• Feeding Tubes: Deliver comprehensive care for individuals with GJ-tubes, including administration, cleaning, maintenance, and managing both oral and tube feeding as required.
• Seizure Management: Monitor residents for respiratory and uncontrolled seizure activity, and administer rescue medication as needed, according to established protocols.
• Treatments: Perform daily medical treatments and monitor the health status of residents, documenting changes in condition.
• Assessments: Conduct regular health assessments, record vital signs, and update nursing notes in the EMR system (Net Smart).

Qualifications for the Licensed Practical Nurse (IDD):

• Licensure: Active LPN license in Pennsylvania.
• Experience: Prior experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or with IDD populations is preferred.
• Skills: Knowledge of feeding tube care (GJ-tubes) and seizure management protocols.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Net Smart (Avatar).
• Training: Willingness to complete training on seizure management and use of rescue medications.
