What will you be doing and how will you make a difference at American Senior Communities?
- Making a difference in the lives of the patients we serve by providing them care and compassion.
- The Licensed Nurse is responsible for the delivery of resident care through nursing processes of implementation and evaluation.
- Supervises nursing personnel in the delivery of care and services according to each resident’s assessment and service plan as directed by Clinical Director.
- Manages in accordance with facility and agency philosophy, standards of professional nursing practices, and all federal and state laws and regulations, including HIPPA as applicable.
Requirements
- Demonstrates C.A.R.E. values to our residents, family members, customers and staff.
- Coordinates resident care and non-resident care (cleaning, etc.) by developing and distributing written nursing assignments for each unit employee which outlines residents to be cared for and other duties to be executed during the shift. Assignments and rotations are provided with consideration that resident needs are matched with the skills of individual staff members, while maintaining consistency to the extent practicable.
- Describes care plan goals and approaches to direct care staff so that plan is consistently implemented on all shifts by all caregivers. Seeks input from nurse aides about resident condition, functional abilities, preferences, and alternative approaches to care.
- Monitors delivery of care and services throughout shift to ensure needs are met, tasks are completed, including complete and accurate resident documentation, and that work of direct care staff is of acceptable quality and quantity. Ensures compliance on unit with resident rights.
- Makes daily rounds on assigned unit at least at beginning and end of shift to observe, examine, or interview residents to verify information from ongoing shift, to monitor regulatory compliance, and to determine or rotate staff assignments and make adjustments according to qualified staff availability and resident needs.
- Assists Unit Manager or ADNS with preparation for long-term care survey and attends survey training. Interacts with state surveyors as instructed or needed.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Current active Indiana Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- CPR Certification
- Current First Aide Certification
