Montgomery County Recovery Center is a licensed medication-assisted treatment program seeking two licensed practical nurses (LPN).
Part-time/On-Call (approx 5-10 hrs/wk)
Schedule: Every other Saturday and On-Call weekdays between 6:00 am and 10:30 am. On-call shifts are dependent/determined by candidate availability, making up to $31 per Hour.
Program Summary:
Montgomery County Recover Center (MCRC) is a licensed methadone treatment program. Medication Treatment in conjunction with counseling and supportive services are provided to support those struggling with addiction to recover. Drug therapy and counseling program for recovering narcotic addicts from all socio-economic levels. All are medically and psychologically approved for methadone treatment. HIV/AIDS testing and counseling and TB testing for all clinic clients.
Position Summary:
The primary role of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is the oversight, coordination, and direct intervention of any and all health-related issues directly or indirectly related to any and all participants of the program.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Have knowledge of the properties of methadone/buprenorphine and how it works in the body.
- Identify and take appropriate action when client exhibits the sign of an inappropriate dose level.
- Dispense methadone and buprenorphine. Observe the client before and during medication.
- Ensure the client has consumed medication before leaving the dispensing area.
- Be aware of the client’s physical conditions, maintenance level, psychological and physiological effects as well as any stressors the client may be experiencing.
- Inform the designated nurse of any medical supplies that are needed.
- Maintain security of the methadone and dispensing area.
- Assist the physician in conducting physical examinations as directed by the physician.
- Enter new clients or medication changes into the dispensing system.
- Verify client doses and eligibility for medicating on courtesy dosing clients.
- Maintain open communication with medical staff.
- Record medication other than methadone when ordered by the physician.
- Provide emergency medical treatment.
- As assigned by the Supervisor to ensure continuity of care and foster a supportive nurturing environment for growth.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse with current license in PA.
- Sign-on bonus: 1/2 of the approved amount paid at the successful completion of 90 days of employment, 1/2 of the approved amount paid at 180 days of successful employment. The sign-on bonuses are prorated for part-time positions being filled (i.e. 20 hours/week = 50% of the above).
