Hourly Rate: $33.10-$34.10/hr

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse will care for ill, injured, or convalescing patients or persons with disabilities in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, private homes, group homes, and similar institutions. He or she may work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Require accompanying the child to and from school on the bus.
• Assisting with healthcare needs during school bus transportation.
• One-to-one nurses need to have proficiency in seizure care, diabetes management, G-Tube feeding, oral/tracheal suctioning, oxygen, pulse oximetry monitoring, ventilator.
• Ensure that all necessary medical supplies and equipment are available and properly maintained on school buses to meet student needs.
• Assisting students with any medical needs that may arise throughout the school day.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.
• Excellent patient care skills.

Education and Experience:

• Postsecondary certificate from vocational school or Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Current state licensure required
• CPR, BLS

Physical Requirements:

• May require prolonged periods of standing, moving and bending.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
