Encore Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for LPN's in our skilled nursing department. Full Time, Part Time and PRN (Pool). The primary role of the LPN is to perform day-to-day nursing activities in the provision of direct resident care. Each staff nurse performs these duties within the scope of practice that they are licensed to perform. All nursing activities must be performed in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations that govern our facility, including the policies and procedures of the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Provides nursing care to patients as assigned.
- Administers and records medications and treatments as assigned.
- Prepares for and assists Physicians and others with diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Performs resident assessment through use of direct physical assessment, behavior monitoring, various assessment forms, review of hospital records, laboratory results, resident medical records and information provided by the interdisciplinary team, resident, and/or the resident's significant others.
- Monitors residents for changes in condition that may indicate progress or deterioration in the resident's overall status. Notifies physicians and families of changes and transcribes orders received.
- Administers medications according to facility policy and monitors residents for therapeutic and adverse effects.
- Provides various treatments according to facility policy and as ordered by the physician such as, but not limited to the application of topical ointments/solutions, application and removal of dressings, and provision of respiratory treatments.
- Triages emergency situations and provides appropriate first aid in a timely manner. Completes appropriate reports and consults DON, ADON or charge nurse on duty.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Current LPN License within the State of Illinois
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program
- Current CPR Certification
