You are a licensed healthcare professional who has a passion behind your practice! You safely provide nursing care to residents, administer medications, and work closely with all departments to achieve the highest standards for resident assistance and independence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform non-invasive resident treatments in accordance with resident care plans.
· Perform medication administration and assistance and properly account for medication including narcotics in accordance with state law.
· Supervise residents who self-administer medication while following company and regulatory guidelines.
· Observe residents for safety and report all changes in resident condition effectively, accurately, and in a timely manner to DRS / ED and appropriately chart and complete state reports as required.
· Assess resident needs, evaluate responses to care, and document this nursing process through appropriate charting.
· Respond to door / window alarms as quickly as possible to deter resident elopement.
· Relate to residents, families, and staff in a courteous, empathetic, and cooperative manner.
· Follow standards of nursing conduct and standard practice.
· Observe and uphold resident rights at all times.
· Supervise Resident Assistants during shift.
· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

· Must be a mature individual. Must possess the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
· Must be drug-free and submit to urinalysis drug screening upon hire and routinely.
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as required by state regulations.
· The employee shall be responsible for maintaining the integrity of Koelsch Communities.
Licenses, Certifications, & Education Required:
· Current and unencumbered license to practice professional nursing as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of employment.
· Must possess a current CPR / First Aid certificate and update as needed.
Supervisory Requirements:
· This role directly supervises the on-shift Resident Assistants and/or Medication Aides.
Uniform and Appearance Requirements:
· Black scrub pants and any appropriate and properly fit scrub top with closed toed shoes. Must abide by the Community dress code policy.
Position Equipment:
· Throughout shift, carry / wear earpiece and handheld radio and respond appropriately to calls as needed.
· Will use specific resident lifts in accordance with training and community policy.
· Maintain and be responsible for the Nurse’s / Medication Cart.
Work Location and Travel Requirements:
· This role is a 100% on-site required role.
· Role requires employee to be constantly present on-site and available for their duties.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently mobile- such as pushing, pulling, lifting of residents and equipment, and potentially long periods of sitting in front of a computer or at a desk. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in support of resident transfers.
