Healthcare Staffing Professionals, Inc. is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in a Psychiatric Hospital Setting in Weston, West Virginia. A successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience as an LPN and will be able to meet submission and compliance deadlines as positions are limited and submission timelines are approaching. Location: Weston, West Virginia
Contract Length: 6 months with the possibility of extension
Shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM ( you would need to be flexible to pick up either shift, and will most likely start on the Night shift)
Schedule: 2-2-3 Schedule ( Two Days On, Two Days Off and Then three days ON; The cycle then repeats. After the three consecutive workdays, the nurse is usually given two more days off, which allows for an extended break.)
Payrate: Overtime after 40 hours a week
$396 per 12 hour shift as a travel employee ( $23/hr + 10/hr travel stipend)
$360 per 12 hour shift as a regular employee ($30/hr )
Key Responsibilities:
•Assist professional nursing and medical staff in providing direct nursing care to patients, including medical treatments, administering medications, giving injections, and assisting in care planning and recording, among other services within the scope of the LPN's license
•Take and record vital signs, collect specimens for testing, administer medications per physician orders, and perform other requested services within the LPN's scope of practice
•Ensure timely and accurate documentation in patients' electronic medical records, following facility policies, procedures, and common practices
•Screen patients and record medical information, assist physicians and registered nurses in examinations and treatments, and provide patient education on medication usage and potential side effects
•Provide emotional and physical comfort and safety to patients
•Assist in responding to medical and psychiatric emergencies
•Collaborate with physicians to meet patient care needs
•Assist patients with activities of daily living such as grooming and personal hygiene
•May testify in court and commitment hearings when deemed necessary, in collaboration with psychiatric physicians
•Respond to inquiries from family members, advocates, and other interested parties while ensuring compliance with confidentiality laws and HIPAA regulations
•LPNs assigned to acute care settings must have completed a course in Intravenous therapy and venipuncture training to start intravenous fluids
•Provide all services in a manner consistent with the applicable standard of care
