Position Purpose
This position is accountable for providing quality Physical Therapy services under the supervision of the Therapy Supervisor/Manager and, ultimately, the Director of Rehab Therapies. This individual provides patient treatment under the direct supervision of licensed Physical Therapists. This individual provides comprehensive physical therapy services to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients; including their families/caregivers. Services include, but are not limited to, assisting the licensed Physical Therapist in the assessment and comprehensive management of gait and transfer limitations, orthotic/prosthetic training and comprehensive wound care.
Nature and Scope
This position provides direct patient care and may include providing services at all Renown Health locations where therapy services are provided. This position provides input to the interdisciplinary team regarding ongoing patient care, and has the authority to make minor adjustments in individual patient programs, scheduling of patient appointments, documenting of objective data, directing the activities of technicians and recommending and obtaining appropriate routine equipment.
Decisions that must be referred to the Licensed Physical Therapist include execution of initial patient evaluations, re-evaluations, major program changes, establishment of goals, ordering of custom equipment and preparation of complex discharge summaries. To establish program continuity, a minimum of weekly discussions is held with the primary therapist concerning the patient’s care.
This position does provide patient care.

Education:
Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
Experience:
Applicants with physical disabilities experience, specialty certification, or experience in one or more specialty areas are preferred.
License(s):
Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Physical Therapy Assistant license.
Certification(s):
CPR/BLS certification required.
Computer / Typing:
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
