OVERVIEW
Responsible for providing counseling services for individuals, couples, families, groups, adults and children in office and home settings intended to affirm, strengthen, and broaden problem-solving abilities and increase the client's self-knowledge. This is done in accordance with agency professional, contractual, and regulatory standards. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides individual, couple, group, and/or family counseling to children and adults in office setting, and/or client homes; shows scheduling flexibility of both days and hours
- Completes forms, consistent with department policies and procedures, as well as State requirements
- Conducts diagnostic interviews to assess for overall functioning and current problem, identify counseling and case management needs, and make referrals to outside services as appropriate
- Collaboratively develop treatment plans with clients that are measurable and lead to positive behavior change, with periodic review and revision
- Provides direct service to individuals in community settings, home residences, and/or job sites
- Maintains case records and timely documentation on each client
- Prepares and maintains clinical, program, and agency reports and other written information, as required
- Participates with a multi-disciplinary team in the evaluation and management (both short term and long term) of clients
- Provides case management and advocacy in the areas of public benefits programs, education, and other systems in the community, to include weekend and evening hours
- Participates in individual, peer, and/or group supervision
- May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.
- Master's Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field
- Active, unrestricted license with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners
- Strong communication skills - oral and written communications are clear, concise, and organized
- CPR and First Aid (Adult, Children, and Infants & AED) certification
REGULATORY
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle report
- Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)
- Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Additional years of directly-related experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and written; proficiency exam required
