Licensed Vocational Nurse, Correctional Health-Middleton Prison Unit - Hendrick Medical Center

JOB SUMMARY

• Responsible, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse for providing direct patient care, administering treatments and medications, making rounds and assisting the physicians and interacting with other hospital departments. Also, performs clerical duties and schedules patient appointments. Reports directly to the Nurse Manager of the unit.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Education
  • Completion of Vocational Nursing Program or Associate’s Degree in Nursing
• Minimum Work Experience
  • 1 year
• Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse
  • BCLS Certification
• Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Deal effectively with hospital and other contract personnel
  • Excellent human relations and oral/written skills
  • Maintains patient charting in the Electronic Medical Records ( EMR)
  • Ability to perform test on cardiology equipment
  • Ability to schedule Patients appointments in the EMR
  • Answers telephone and coordinate information to the Facility manger and Nurse Manager
