The LVN's responsibilities include the following:
- Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of Nursing Service's philosophy, objectives, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Documents nursing intervention and resident response in progress notes and other areas as appropriate.
- Provides a safe, therapeutic environment that protects resident’s rights.
- Develops a therapeutic relationship with assigned residents.
- Establishes and maintains professional contact with the resident's physician and psychotherapist, to assist in planning the resident’s care
- Intervenes appropriately to de-escalate residents.
- Admits, discharges, and transfers residents based on physician’s orders.
- Collaborates and communicates with members of other disciplines in a professional manner.
- Observes resident behavior for changes, to intervene appropriately, guides nonprofessional staff, communicates changes to appropriate staff, and records changes promptly.
- Reviews medical records, checks and verifies physician orders, and records these orders, per facility policy and procedure.
Qualified candidates for LVN should have the following:
- Active Licensed Vocational Nurse license in the state of Texas or eligible compact license.
- Behavioral hospital experience strongly preferred.
- Must be BLS certified.
- Must complete Handle with Care training during hospital orientation.
- Must be available to attend a full week of hospital orientation and department training that follows.
Shifts available: Full-Time - 7:00am-7:00pm and 7:00pm-7:00am
*Earn weekday and weekend night shift differential!
