Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, NH is looking for an experienced Lift Maintenance Manager to join the Mountain Operations team. This position is responsible for the operational efficiency, repair, maintenance, planning, budgeting, safety, and quality results of the Lifts Maintenance department at Gunstock Mountain Resort. Manages and coordinates predictive maintenance programs for all resort aerial and surface lifts, including the Mountain Coaster, to provide for the safe uphill transport of guests and employees in accordance with ANSI B77 regulations, as well as local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Develop, manage and coordinate the seasonal lift maintenance and repair plan for all aerial and surface lifts, and Mountain Coaster; ensure consistent adherence to regulatory and resort standards and protocol for the safe operation, repair and maintenance of all lifts and lift maintenance equipment, tools, and vehicles.
- Assist with the daily supervision and coordination of Lifts and Mountain Coaster opening and closing procedures; work closely with Lift Operations personnel to ensure all lifts and Mountain Coaster are opened to the public as scheduled; communicate regularly with Safety Services, Snowmaking and Grooming, and Lift Operations managers to coordinate mountain opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of lift maintenance logs and other state required records and communicate maintenance issues to the Director of Operations as needed; ensure all lift signage is in compliance with ANSI standards; act as primary point of contact for resort with State of NH Tramway Inspectors and insurance carriers and effectively coordinate inspection schedule to meet the needs of the business.
- Provide expertise and informed recommendations to the Lift Operations Manager on the safe and efficient operation of lift systems for the development of training programs for Lift Operators; assist with in-service training for Lift Operations personnel and maintain accurate records of employee certifications and trainings as needed; advise on the development of in-service training for proper loading/unloading techniques for employees assisting guests and/or transporting materials, including Ski/Board Instructors, Patrollers, and F&B personnel.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five years’ paid experience as a mechanic at the journeyman level with at least one year of experience supervising other mechanics; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of B77 regulations pertaining to the safety requirements for aerial passenger tramways, aerial lifts, surface lifts and tows, as established in the American National Safety Standards; strong understanding of mechanical, structural and electrical engineering principles as they pertain to the construction, maintenance and operation of aerial and surface lifts; working knowledge of MSDS regulations.
- Current driver's license.
