Our client is a family-owned business with over 30 years of experience, consisting of a licensed electrical contracting company in NYC and an energy solutions firm. We are currently seeking a Lighting Project Manager with deep expertise in lighting technologies, auditing, installation, and controls from a contractor’s perspective. This role is designed for a professional with a long-term vision, as it involves supporting and ultimately expanding our clients lighting division. The ideal candidate is someone who values career development and has a strong interest in team building.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Support and Coordination: Assist in planning, executing, and ensuring successful completion of lighting installations by coordinating teams and resources.
Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Track project budgets, monitor costs, and process invoices to maintain project profitability without compromising
quality.
Crew and Team Support: Provide guidance to electrical and installation crews, ensuring they meet project specifications, schedules, and standards while actively supporting field teams.
Energy Audits and Calculations: Support the technical team by reviewing energy savings calculations and findings, leveraging experience with over 100 lighting audits.
LED Fixture Recommendations: Offer expert guidance on LED fixture options and controls to enhance energy efficiency, supporting audit and design teams in retrofit solutions.
Client Relations and Consultation: Act as a consultative liaison with clients, offering solutions that address unique project needs and maintaining strong client relationships.
Documentation and Reporting: Support the preparation and upkeep of comprehensive project documentation, including work orders, scopes of work, and progress updates.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local codes, NYC electrical and energy regulations, and assist in managing any required adjustments.
Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years in the lighting industry with hands-on project and installation support in commercial lighting and energy efficiency.
Leadership: Proven background in supporting lighting project management within a team structure, ideally in a senior role within a lighting or energy company.
Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of lighting systems, including equipment, tools, and techniques necessary for lighting projects across diverse spaces.
Energy Efficiency Expertise: Knowledge in energy savings calculations, LED retrofits, and industry standards.
Project Management Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,Outlook), project management software, and documentation tools.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication, with an ability to translate technical details for clients and team members
Location: Based in NYC or nearby to ensure access to project sites.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required.
Additional Requirements:
Audit Support: Assist Lighting Auditors by reviewing audit reports and offering recommendations on fixture replacements and installation needs.
This position offers unlimited potential for growth within their organization.
Compensation: $110,000 - $150,000, based on experience
Bonus Structure: Bonus opportunities will be discussed during the interview process.
Commission Opportunities: Candidates will have the ability to bring in their own projects and earn commissions, with terms to be discussed during the interview process.
Location: New York City, NY (Initial requirement of 5 days/week in-office with travel to job sites as needed; future office requirements may adjust)
Benefits: Full-time position; paid time off (10 days vacation, sick, and public holidays); 10 days non-paid time off (after 6 months for non-paid, 12 months for paid); reimbursement for gas, tolls, and parking garage fees if applicable.
Pay Details: $110,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
