THE JOB
We are seeking a Lighting Technician/L2 in the East Williamsburg/Bushwick area. Avant Gardner is actively accepting resumes from lighting techs with skills in electrics, lighting, and production for a seasonal position.. The Lighting Technician/L2 is responsible for maintaining the Production Department’s lighting inventory (both architectural and entertainment) and atmospheric effects for each show. In addition to these responsibilities, the Lighting Technician/L2 also assists in lighting and electrical installations for the venue as a whole.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hang, Circuit, and Focus Lighting from plots
- Maintain documentation for electrics, lighting, and associated networking
- Repair and maintenance of lighting and electrical inventory
- Provide support for Lighting Programmers during events
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Required proficiency in the Google Workspace suite, and its applications such asDocs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Drive- including Shared Drives, and Google Groups for seamless team communication. Basic training is provided to ensure effective utilization of these tools for collaboration, communication, and document management.
- 3-5 Years of relevant professional experience
- Skills in lighting installations within entertainment and permanent scenarios
- Motivated, responsible, and punctual
- Team-oriented attitude
- Basic Carpentry skills
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Vectorworks, and Lightwright
- Proficiency in MA2/MA3 programming techniques
- Knowledge of entertainment drafting standards
PHYSICAL FACTORS AND/OR ENVIRONMENT
- Must be willing to work long shifts, including nights, weekends, and possible holidays
- Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and other ariel equipment
- Specific Vision Requirements: Color Vision & Depth Perception
COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position starts at $40/hr-$55/hr, and is negotiable based on experience.
