We are looking for a reliable Line Cook/Prep Cook to cook for our residents in a professional and considerate manner at our skilled nursing facility (SNF). We offer nursing and rehabilitation. You will work under the supervision of a Dietary Manager. The ideal candidate will be experienced in cooking therapeutic meals. It is a very rewarding job. Generally, cooks work 6-8 hour shifts. This posting is to add a Cook for days 5:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and evenings 1:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m..
Responsibilities
- Prepare basic components of each dish on our menu using our proven recipes
- Memorize and utilize our serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen
- Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet SNF cleaning standards
- Work with team of cooks to do portion prep work for other shifts when needed
- Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the facility
Skills
- Proven experience as a Cook or similar role
- Excellent cooking skills
- Ability to undertake a variety of diverse cooking tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with SNF kitchen safety, sanitation standards, and procedures
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and cooking best practices
- Excellent knowledge of menus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
