Line Inspector - Amerlux

Amerlux, a pioneer in the lighting industry for over 35 years, is seeking a Line Inspector to join our production team.  Work schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm.  Must be able to work OT and Saturdays from 5:30am to 11:30am based on business needs.

The Line Inspector will work under the direction of line leader and Production Management staff to complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner and to the quality level established by Amerlux. The Line Inspector should be able to complete assigned tasks independently and be capable of guiding and directing Grade 1 and Grade 2 Assemblers in the absence of a Team Lead.

Job Responsibilities Inlcude:

• Demonstrate expert product knowledge and have the ability to work in all related areas assigned by Production Management.
• Responsible for guiding the line and assuming all responsibilities should the assigned line leader be absent.
• Must have the knowledge of completing all tasks related to the building of light fixtures or the sub-assemblies as assigned by production management staff.
• Use hand or pneumatic tools safely and as directed.
• Work efficiently in shopvue to clock into all work orders pertaining to the daily production goal.
• Responsible for managing shopvue sign-in’s on their designated lines.
• Responsible for producing products that are to an acceptable quality level as defined by the QC Department and Production Management.
• Knowing how to properly inspect of each fixtures and how to test them accordingly.
• Have a clear understanding of BOM and assembly drawings.
• Observe all safety rules when using equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Skills and Experiences:

• 6 months to 1 year of assembly experience
• Must be able to read all Amerlux product drawings, including understanding of nomenclatures.
• Must display leadership qualities
• Bilingual English/Spanish  
• Must be computer literate
• Must be able to stand for at least 11 hours a day
• Work OT when required
• Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.

• Environmental/Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be asked to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
