About the Job
Summary of Position
Operate production line for sealing or impregnation of prepared customer parts using cranes, hoists and other controls to move customer parts through various stages of production.
What will you do?
- Load and unload customer parts and/or baskets into the 110/130/140 line in a safe, timely and efficient manner using a crane or hoist.
- Complete visual inspections and quality checks before processing and alert Quality Personnel or Team Lead about damaged, dirty or contaminated parts.
- Understand and troubleshoot basic line or crane/hoist issues.
- Completes all necessary production reporting forms per quality instructions. Basic use of computers as needed.
- Assists with loading and unloading duties as needed, both on and off the production line.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- May require working flexible hours.
- Carries out other duties as directed.
- Must be able to safely work in a variety of potentially hazardous situations while adhering to Quaker Houghton’s Life Saving Rules.
What do we look for?
- High school diploma or GED required. May be required to obtain certifications/licenses.
- Minimal to no experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Ability to work independently once trained.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate intermediate reading skills. Ability to effectively present information. Demonstrate basic mathematical skills.
- Sufficient skills for data entry (MS excel and word) and reporting activities.
- Ideal to have basic working knowledge of: Internet software, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets and project tracking.
- The employee will be required to perform these functions:
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 70 pounds with assistance
- May be required to stand for long periods and walk great distances daily
- Routinely required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
- May be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear
- May be required to work in small spaces and high locations
