Key Responsibilities:
- Client of Uptime: Monitor and swiftly act on any platform outages, whether hardware or software.
- Tech Whisperer: Engage with tenants and users of the Openstack Cloud Platform via chat services, assisting with their every need.
- Innovator: Upgrade and deploy applications, conduct R&D on new technologies & services within Openstack, and refine existing documentation for clarity and brilliance.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access and a willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph.
- US Citizenship required.
As a Linux Administrator, you will:
- Perform high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations, and servers.
- Coordinate, direct, and perform complex software installations, upgrades, and patching to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Troubleshoot complex issues between hardware and software components.
- Schedule installations and upgrades, maintaining them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Continually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Ensure workstation server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
- Plan and implement the modernization of servers.
- Implement and promote standard operating procedures and schedules.
- Conduct hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Provide infrastructure support for the Openstack environment.
Qualifications:
- Mastery of Linux administration: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, etc.
- Fluent in networking protocols: HAPROXY, DNS, HTTP(S), LDAP(S), SMTP, SNMP, SSSD, etc.
- Proficient in scripting languages: Shell, Python, Ansible, RegEx, etc.
- Skilled in storage solutions: Ceph Storage, SANs, etc.
- Experienced with cloud technologies (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS): Openstack, Azure, AWS, VMWare.
- Knowledgeable in containerization: Docker, LXC.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
- 5+ years of related experience.
Additional Skills We'd Like to See:
- Experience with relational databases: MySQL, MariaDB, HadoopDB, etc.
- Relevant certifications: RHCT, RHCSA, A+, Network+, Security+, ITIL Foundations. #CJ#CG
