Overview
Position: Linux Systems Administrator III
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Salary Range: $81,600 - $91,600 per year.
Clearance: Clearable to Q
KeyLogic is seeking a Linux System Administrator to support a major national laboratory. This position will provide container orchestration, virtualization, Linux configuration and patch management, infrastructure as code, and Linux and Window server systems. The Administrator will design and operate technologies and processes to ensure IT systems are reliable, consistent, and secure throughout the lifecycle of the system.
Note: Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as work will be performed on site.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and maintain production Linux operating systems in accordance with established IT policies and guidelines for items such as security, networks and filesystems.
- Coordinate and perform installations and upgrades to layered software packages.
- Continually monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
- Work with Enterprise IT Configuration Management automation tools/approaches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems or IT related field and 2 year’s of experience.
- In lieu of degree, 6 additional years of job-related experience totaling 8 years of experience is applicable.
- U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q security clearance.
- Experience in Unix/Linux Server system administration
- Experience in Linux Web Cluster administration
- Experience in Apache, Ngnix, haproxy
- Experience in Ansible for automation of provisioning and configuration of Linux services.
Desired:
- Active security clearance.
- Working knowledge of authentication methodologies such as Kerberos, PAM, LDAP.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, SS, DNS, FTP, SSH, and other common Internet protocols.
- Familiarity or experience with virtualized systems (such as KVM, ESX) and containers.
- Knowledge of CLI, scripting (Bash, Python), and searching/parsing log files.
- Experience with solving practical problems and system analysis of IT infrastructures.
- Experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment.
