Overview
Deploys the release of new technologies as well as designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware. Responsible for troubleshooting server problems as reported by users. Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products. Supports Web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment. Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth, installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically has at least 5 years of IT work experience. Requires a high level of expertise in multiple system environments.
Responsibilities Will Include
Provide capacity analysis and forecasting of components including space on disk and performance requirements
Perform application software installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting
Configuring the application and any supporting services required such as GSLB, load balancer, and any other dependencies.
Perform systems and network troubleshooting, and problem resolution activities with other support teams (e.g. network support, NOC, vendors)
Produce Root Cause Analysis findings that focus on recommendations to learn from and avoid problem recurrence
Proactively identify and automate repetitive tasks
Build and analyze metrics data to conduct performance analysis, capacity planning, and reliability testing
Write, Maintain, Deploy complex host configuration and alerting scripts
Tuning an application for best performance or providing recommendation for related code changes.

Required Skills/Experience
Expertise in configuring/managing Linux Systems, such as RHEL
Proven experience scripting to automate tasks using a common scripting language
Monitoring experience and use of monitoring tools such a Nagios
SNMP, JMX, Log searches
Expert in troubleshooting network, server, and application issues
Experience in setting up and maintaining connections to storage components.
Experience in installing, configuring, tuning and maintaining Java and other web technologies.
Application tuning heap configuration etc.
Performance tuning
Deployment experience (large environment preferred)
Proven experience in a demanding environment
Experience in large computing environments.
Requires a high level of expertise in multiple system environments.
Experience with Any of the Following is a Plus
VMware and Cloud experience
Understanding of email terminology and related technologies
Knowledgeable with storage infrastructure such as Client and 3Par
Email domain experience (supporting mailboxes, etc.)
Data Center automation such as Puppet
