Job Description:
- Linux systems engineer to work with architect to update and automate the Linux infrastructure while providing 3rd tier support.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, manage, and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (5, 6, and 7)
- Automate system configurations and deployments utilizing Puppet
- Troubleshoot both hardware and software issues
- Help develop patching strategy and automation
- Develop documentation for support tiers
- Help test and evaluate new technologies and solutions
- Work with teams across the company to determine requirements
Experience
- Strong Linux knowledge (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 6, and 7)
- Experience working in a virtualized environment (VMWare)
- In depth knowledge of configuration management and automation using Puppet
- Strong scripting skills (python, ruby, bash, ksh, perl)
- Experience with version control systems; specifically git
- Understanding of Red Hat Satellite server
- Experience with Linux running critical applications; Specifically Oracle and Hadoop workloads
- Basic understanding of cloud based technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills teams to deliver quality and predictable outcomes
