Scope
This is a fantastic opportunity for expert Linux Systems Engineers who have expertise in Perl, Python, Shell, Ruby or C. You will work with a team in a collaborative environment and provide engineering, systems administration and operation support for upgrades and improvements to systems our client's customers rely on every day.
Responsibilities Will Include
Review, test and provide feedback to internal and external development teams on design of new technical features, architecture changes to the systems and quality of code to be deployed in national data centers
Perform installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, tuning and problem resolution of the application software and Linux/Unix operating systems
Administer and maintain virtual server farms, lead the implementation and maintenance of vendor- and internally-supplied code in daily operations
Monitor current system quality status and use scripting tools such as: Perl, Python, Shell scripting, Ruby, or C to build automation tools for management of large systems
Required Skills/Experience
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
Five (5) years experience in Linux systems engineering and administration - a Linux expert; this is NOT for a System Admin only candidate must be engineer-level
At least two (2) years experience in virtualization
Automation scripting using any of the following: Perl, Python, Shell, Ruby or C
Must have skills in Apache Tomcat and WebLogic
Nice to Have
Database maintenance experience - this would include the application of database patches, execution of database queries and log analysis
