What You’ll Do
- Identify, design, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of lithium extraction and refining operations, with particular focus on processes such as calcination.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate optimization opportunities and implement new technologies in refining and production processes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with R&D and technical teams to introduce novel materials and methods into commercial-scale operations.
- Provide training and technical assistance to team members, ensuring safety protocols and best practices are followed in all process technology implementations.
- Troubleshoot and lead the resolution of process issues, ensuring that process upsets and challenges are addressed efficiently.
- Contribute technical expertise to strategic site initiatives and long-term planning.
- Mentor and support team members in developing their professional skills and maximizing their contributions to projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in lithium processing or related fields such as thermal processing, ceramics, or chemical materials.
- Proven track record in process optimization, failure analysis, and implementing process improvements, particularly in heat treatment, calcination, and refining operations.
- Experience with thermal analysis techniques such as DSC, TGA, and equipment like kilns, calciners, and furnaces.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement solutions to complex process challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance with best practices in process engineering and laboratory environments.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as necessary for implementation and oversight.
