Litigation Assistant - HERS Advisors

HERS Advisors has partnered with a leading business law firm in Orange County (hybrid) who is looking for an eager Litigation Assistant to join their successful team.

Responsibilities for Litigation Assistant:

• Assistant to Litigation Department: Perform general case management
• Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda
• File court documents
• Identify and submit legal documents for docketing, court and case deadlines using firm software
• Management of ongoing assigned court and case deadlines
• Assist attorneys with reviewing, organizing, and summarizing case materials, mail, and other case related documents
• Assist in preparation of matrices, charts, and spreadsheets as needed
• Assist in preparation of privilege log
• Create, revise, and proofread documents with high accuracy
• Assist with mediation and trial preparation
• Keep accurate time records for billable tasks

Requirements for Litigation Assistant:

• Prior litigation experience as a legal secretary and/or junior paralegal required
• Undergraduate degree and/or ABA approved paralegal certificate highly preferred
• Ability to become proficient in state and federal court filings
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint)
• Ability to learn and utilize document management firm software to include Microsoft
