Join a nationally recognized law firm as they seek a skilled Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation to join their dynamic team in their Los Angeles office.
This role offers the opportunity to engage directly with clients and handle complex litigation matters from inception through trial. The ideal candidate will possess strong independent working capabilities, superior communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach to legal practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cases throughout the litigation process, including drafting and responding to pleadings
- Conduct comprehensive discovery, including propounding and responding to requests
- Lead depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and experts
- Attend and represent the firm at court hearings
- Prepare and argue motions and oppositions
- Assist in trial preparation and strategy development
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Active California bar license
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in civil and commercial litigation
- Proven ability to manage complex litigation matters from start to finish, including pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation
- Strong legal research and technical writing skills, with familiarity in utilizing legal research tools
- Experience in both state and federal court proceedings
- Exceptional writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills.
