Position Summary
Our client is looking to hire a mid-level associate (3rd-4th year) to join their Litigation practice group in the New York office. This role is ideal for a commercial litigator with excellent research, writing, and analytical abilities, who can handle a variety of commercial disputes in both state and federal courts.
The ideal candidate should be skilled in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motions, and discovery, with a particular focus on e-discovery.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Legal Research and Writing: Conduct in-depth legal research and draft comprehensive legal documents, including pleadings and motions.
- Litigation Support: Handle all aspects of litigation, from pre-trial discovery to trial preparation. Oversee discovery processes, including electronic discovery (e-discovery).
- Court Representation: Assist in representing clients in commercial matters in both state and federal court.
- Client Interaction: Collaborate directly with clients, providing them with strategic advice and case updates.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing is required.
- 3-4 years of litigation experience, ideally in commercial litigation.
- Strong academic background.
- Prior experience at an AmLaw 100 firm is a plus.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage client relationships.
