The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all facets of litigation, including developing litigation strategies, counseling clients, conducting discovery, and representing clients in court, mediation, and arbitration. You will be expected to handle a diverse caseload involving a broad spectrum of disputes, with a primary focus on defense litigation. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Litigation Attorney to join our expanding legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all facets of litigation, including developing litigation strategies, counseling clients, conducting discovery, and representing clients in court, mediation, and arbitration. You will be expected to handle a diverse caseload involving a broad spectrum of disputes, with a primary focus on defense litigation. This exciting opportunity allows for significant client interaction and case management responsibility right from the start.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court, before government agencies, and in private legal matters.
- Communicate with clients, colleagues, judges, and others involved in the case.
- Conduct research and analysis of legal problems to interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Present facts in writing and verbally to argue on behalf of clients.
- Prepare and file legal documents, such as lawsuits, appeals, wills, contracts, and deeds.
- Develop litigation strategies and negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
- Direct and coordinate law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas.
- Gather evidence to formulate defense or initiate legal actions, by interviewing clients and witnesses, and handling discovery-related activities.
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be licensed to practice law in the state.
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, primarily in defense litigation.
- Excellent analytical skills, with a strong ability to draft and review legal documents, manage complex issues, and conduct intricate legal research.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to resolve disputes while preserving client relationships.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to advocate for our clients effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proven track record of representing clients in a professional and competent manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
