Talis Group’s client is a Louisville law firm established for several decades in this region, with a reputation for family culture. This nationally recognized firm is hiring a Litigation Attorney to join their team. This position will handle insurance defense, products liability and other business litigation. This medium sized, growing firm is located in the East End of Louisville and offers full benefit package including health, dental, vision, life, long-term disability and 401K. This firm also has bonus plan for new business development activities and exceeding billable hour requirements.
Highlighted Duties:
- Handling caseload of litigation cases from inception to completion
- Advise clients concerning their claims or defense of claims, legal rights and obligations.
- Interpret laws, rulings and regulations for clients
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
- Study Constitution, statutes, decisions, regulations, and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies to determine ramifications for cases.
- Prepare and draft legal documents including briefs and opinions
- Negotiate settlements and mediations
- Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
- Communicate with clients and provide status reports
Highlighted Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- 3+ years of experience in litigation in state and federal courts
- Licensed to practice in Kentucky in good standing
- Effective communication, research, negotiation and reasoning skills.
- Experience with administrative hearings, court hearings and arbitrations
- Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills
