About the Job
Join a Los Angeles-based firm as a Litigation Paralegal and become a vital asset in supporting their attorneys across all facets of Labor and Employment litigation. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented candidate with strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple cases and provide comprehensive support to the legal team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing, filing, and serving legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Organize and manage case files, including indexing, categorizing, and maintaining electronic and hard copy documents.
- Assist with document review and analysis, including privilege review and preparation of privilege logs.
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and third-party vendors to obtain and exchange discovery materials.
- Prepare deposition notices, PMK subpoenas, and other legal documents as required.
- Assist attorneys with deposition and trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witness testimony.
- Maintain attorney calendars and schedule appointments, hearings, and court appearances.
- Draft correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phones, managing emails, and handling client inquiries.
- Assignments are primarily litigation-related, including business, employment, insurance, and related matters.
- Stay current on court rules, procedures, and deadlines to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
- Seven (7)+ years of experience working as a paralegal in litigation with Labor & Employment experience.
- Trial experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and legal terminology.
- Proficiency in legal research and document management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Adobe Acrobat Pro, as well as use of e-discovery database software such as Relativity, CS Disco, Summation, Concordance, or FTK.
Salary:
$96,000+ DOE
Additional Information:
This is a hybrid position. Eligible to work remotely two days a week after 90 days of employment.
