Litigation Legal Assistant - Gpac

Legal secretary/legal studies degree preferred (equivalent experience considered) 9 years experience

We are looking for a Family Law Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to join the firm. This position provides secretarial and administrative support to attorneys. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent proofreading and writing skills, the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities: * Prepare and proofread correspondence, memos, pleadings, briefs, forms and other documents in proper legal form, ranging from simple to very complex while fully utilizing firm technology * Proofread all documents to ensure accuracy, consistency and professional appearance * Maintain electronic and hard copy open files according to firm standards * Ability and experience with e-filing in Oakland, Macomb, Wayne Counties and Federal Court * Perform other administrative duties such as docketing, calendar maintenance, conference room reservations, opening and filing mail

Qualifications: * Legal secretary/legal studies degree preferred (equivalent experience considered) * Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) * Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM * Excellent grammar and writing skills * Ability to handle privileged and confidential information with discretion
