We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, supporting our team of attorneys in a variety of legal matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing case files, researching law, preparing legal documents, and providing litigation support. This role requires a high level of professionalism, ability to work well under pressure, and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys in preparing for trials and court proceedings.
2. Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, stock certificates and other securities, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and binders, deeds, and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by attorney.
3. Investigate facts and law of cases to determine causes of action and to prepare cases.
4. Prepare affidavits of documents and maintain document file by organizing and tracking cases.
5. Meet with clients and other professionals to discuss details of case.
6. Direct and coordinate law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas.
7. Keep and monitor legal volumes to ensure that law library is up-to-date.
8. Manage and organize large volumes of complex documents; review and summarize client files.
9. Coordinate and manage routine administrative work, such as opening matters, maintaining electronic and physical files, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, preparing expense reports, and time and data entry.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in legal studies or related field preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience.
3. Strong knowledge and understanding of legal terminologies, regulations, and court system.
4. Proficient in using legal database software and other software needed for the role.
5. Excellent research and report-writing skills.
6. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
8. High level of discretion and confidentiality for clients.
9. Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and attention to detail.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Paralegal certification from an accredited program is a plus.
